I'm planning on painting on plexi glass to look like stain glass. I'm going to solder the edges. Do I have to prepare the plexi glass in any way for the solder to hold?

Can anyone recommend me a website where I can download free stain glass patterns. I'm looking for classic patterns (abstract, symetrical) vs images of animals, flowers, etc.

Thanks.

Tons came up with a basic search.

Look at Hobby Lobby they have some stained glass items and books if not there look in your yellow pages under stained glass and find a stained glass shop in your area that sells glass, lead caning, solder, books and also gives lesson and allows the use of the grinder and other tools to help you out with your projects. You could also look on Ebay they have tons of stained glass stuff on there. I sell and buy on Ebay so they have tons of stuff and great prices. Hope this helps.

I have an original collection of approx. 30 patterns that I would like to try to sell.

In the U.S. and other countries you enjoy copyright protection automatically. You don't even have to write copyright or use the copyright symbol, but there are good reasons to do so. Other than some fair use excpetions, it is illegal for people to copy your work.

Enforcing copyright is something all together different. If you wish to sue someone for copyright infringment, you need to have your images registered with the U.S. copyright office. Although this can be done later, even after the infringement, you can only get punitive damages by doing it right away.

Read the U.S. Copyright page for more info:

where i can get a book to learn more about stained glass?

The less expensive option is the public library. Good and free. You can also try arts & crafts stores like Michael's or Joann's.
